Sometimes the light is dim, sometimes it's blindingly obvious. Whatever the day brings, we know God is faithfully there.Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.comBlogger57125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5653293211689693308.post-90607539850307186582016-11-16T23:19:00.002-08:002016-11-16T23:24:11.700-08:00RolesIt's been a while since I've posted! Like 5 years!!! Too many social media outlets are getting more political than I like, so I'm going to try this out for a while again! I think it's a little more my speed. <br />
<br />
The husband and I took a trip to Washington D.C. and Maryland a few weeks ago and had such a great time. This was a kid-free trip, which is hard for me because I LOVE being with my kids. I enjoy talking to them, playing games with them, and like to hear about their day after school. So many people have warned me about how fast time goes when kids are young that I have tried to make it a point to savor every moment. So, this little four-day trip was a hard decision for me. I didn't want to miss out on anything. I didn't want them to miss me. But, at every marriage retreat and any marriage-related book that I've ever read, the common theme seems to be that kid-free trips are important for marriage. So, I went...so our marriage could continue to grow and we could get a taste of what life is like without changing a diaper, getting out of a car without unbuckling a car seat, and eat a meal without chopping up someone's food into bits. As much as I missed my kids, I enjoyed our little trip. And I learned a little about me. It was relaxing and I realized that in order for Mom to stay sane, sometimes she just needs to get away and get refueled to be a better Mom. So, my new encouragement when I see new moms is to get away once in a while. Leave the kids with grandma or a babysitter...even if it is just for a few hours. You'll find out that you are not only a Mom, you are a wife, a daughter, a friend. We shouldn't let one role define us. Think about our ultimate role model...God has so many beautiful names throughout the Bible. Those names define His character. Blessed Redeemer, Savior, Father, Messiah, Emmanuel. I could go on for a while. He doesn't get stuck on one name, one role. He embraces them all and He desires the same out of us. Be the best Mom ever, but also be the best of all your roles. Your kids are watching and they want to be just like you.<br />

He has really taken on the responsibility of big brother. Tonight I <u>had</u> to water my garden. Seriously. It was literally dying of thirst. Things were getting brown...and not in a good way. When my boys go outside, they have every intention to play, not work. Eat, nap (when they desire to...they are the bosses these days), eat a few more times, play. Those are the things on their to-do lists. Cleaning and gardening are not necessities to them. So when I have to go outside to water the garden, they go out expecting to swing on the swings. That is the first (and only) stop in their minds. Meanwhile, I am on a mission. Garden needs watered. Water the garden. The garden needs you. Thankfully, I now have this amazing three-year-old boy who loves his momma so. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485037512265745042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8inXPAoEO5b_oKFOemHczyaGLUa5COKZav6mtGVnD3hnzT33xDhgjbDDpXL3S5fhS9ngl6PX4LEATlTGUT6EJ7BEADKplW8W-ouMFo6x-vsGFfPt1YruDXhKewfl0WrCvwxyqYq4YjjU/s400/102_1810_edited-2.JPG" border="0" /> <div><div><div></div><div>So, instead of whining and begging me to swing him (okay, there was a little bit of whining and begging, but really only a little), he gets off of his swing and swings his little brother. We went to my Grandma Jo's house and had all of the older cousin's hide the eggs we dyed. Addison and Conner had so much fun finding them and actually had to look pretty hard to find some of them! Gage mainly hung out on the swing with cousin Kennedy. That is very Gage-like right now. :) He doesn't mind relaxing most of the time. Here are a few to catch up on:<br /><div align="center"><br /></div><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463895538333473346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 267px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4h67OfyTyHn1gNCZnDfeoiv0max8K5u7aJTh_gzVJSzLpNTBtMryks1WR7k-aLbszMSo2H28Kh_cGMz8lHTfZsEuWT4s_MYRQVCBL3SHlBZDLTtOcNOagLMIDaqohPsEMIBsPt7HFgaA/s400/05+03+04_0662.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463895549732326754" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-0AVIKL8lo8P2Uu1yhnsgxoejq4OgByw9w99hMqSatDn3HUfYpjR430HXR4iVcbUAJpiXnaPvT1f-KjmxpfDZElHbyOzU49upzhi84AvM-MeYlIYJybAZ8CRA0PEm8ry3B-8m2y3gagw/s400/05+03+04_0668.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463895556789230098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 267px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqWfaR_2te_rtKJI6C9TbJYT4y6q8fF4B4zRRPfYaK2LglDa6kfjieCBHsU-TrvdNSyCJggXm14SAcQWx3yTIIR4h8ZpbewRC9UYHv0z0re___enG4HylEiAKmQm_QzZtb2WfG_M4wNhQ/s400/05+03+04_0669.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463895573275358402" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 267px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc8ZrAgoLgqd-4dN2f6AMT6qVzDEUywVxOEWKQNsPk50Pqk2BC3KgDH8QQjCyol_AvP_UZhNTnsPYi9coOs75tkHnK9N5DjynIMJCWBXbABvACcpEpd8zpSeu9xZPDdQzlzIZAMYATWVo/s400/05+03+04_0679.JPG" border="0" /> Swinging on the swings..a favorite at Grandma Jo's house</p><p><br /></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463896549315547346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_SuxM7ACewylDNG4r5H7EN8rmyr41mJ-zbx2PjAbelUy-cBV_5gU2XUrh3yMRo4yrMW1-a95V5TTwkjQMFar6oUwp-H1XbN4lUamROpmG0KBmlG9OhJEdXb-doakHROByP1c5INWxk68/s400/05+03+04_0672.JPG" border="0" /> <p align="center">"Let me see if those glasses taste very good!"</p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463896556385473826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn8kZLoA14EyS0YXok9_nkmdkd0ikCEpmfUPv3c8N9WMwwQ2Ri4Vv14_p7BcsugIH7c-y7FeagIbccBpaix0Z2Zz1oACFB8R3mZ4dwM2j0QYNapUv8bsJ_0V5X6JlpjyVTfVkumdATyAE/s400/05+03+04_0665.JPG" border="0" /> <p align="center">Uncle Kirby (my brother) and cousin Addison looking for eggs<br /><br /></p>Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5653293211689693308.post-48470724877144335622010-04-21T05:09:00.000-07:002010-04-21T05:19:34.549-07:00Silver Dollar City!<div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9rWLaoVqE7pTy4noUSQ7myaNyp68cRwc-Snhy4qCfjoY4jO41d1WZYM07Fzj7xOIPYgHGT-NxCpd73umzYS61hBE87Ed7vHbs_QIclj6KBG4uRwa9G38e1i5usnjfILPDMoVnWZXWPts/s1600/05+16+04_0654.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462562758943913394" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9rWLaoVqE7pTy4noUSQ7myaNyp68cRwc-Snhy4qCfjoY4jO41d1WZYM07Fzj7xOIPYgHGT-NxCpd73umzYS61hBE87Ed7vHbs_QIclj6KBG4uRwa9G38e1i5usnjfILPDMoVnWZXWPts/s400/05+16+04_0654.JPG" border="0" /></a> We went to Silver Dollar City the past weekend with some friends and had such a great time! Was Gage even born yet?? Let's not get into too many statistics just yet. I'll just try to update you all on things. As always, things are super busy. The only reason I am able to even post this is because the boys are BOTH taking a late nap. I know I will regret the lateness later tonight, but I am basking in the greatness of free time right now.<br /><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div></div><br /><div>Some fun things in our life:<br /></div><div></div><br /><div>-Easter is almost here and Conner keeps getting into my Easter drawer in the basement and saying "Yep, the Easter stuff is still here, Mom." (i think it's a hint). I am trying to get the point across that Easter is not about bunnies, eggs, and cute little duckies, but I also have to remember I have a 3-yr-old and 8-mo-old and these concepts are hard to grasp...but I'm still going to try!!<br /></div><br /><div>-It's been so nice outside!!!! We love working in the flower garden and Conner's been discing away on our veggie garden...it's going to be so fun to start planting everything!!</div><div></div><br /><div>-We are already thinking about our little family vacation (with all the Brunk's) to Branson...it's all the way in July!!! We are really needing to pace ourselves.</div><div></div><br /><div>-I swear I heard Gage say ";alskdjf;alkjsdfa;dlkfjNER" this morning (which of course means Conner to a proud momma)</div><div></div><div></div><br /><div>-Conner is starting letter recognition and is doing great every day!!</div><div></div><div></div><br /><div>-Chris and I are taking Dave Ramsey classes at our church so for Christmas you can get us some rice and beans, beans and rice. Someday we will live like no one else lives.<br /></div><br /><div> </div><div>Some not-so-fun things:<br /></div><div>-Conner had his first couple of cavities. He did great, though and we now LOVE our dentist in KC!!! He was awesome and very highly recommended!</div><br /><div>-We have a really busy weekend because I evidentally like to sign up for everything under the sun...pray that we get through this!!!!<br /></div><br /><div>Here are a few pictures I took of the boys the other day. I thought they turned out pretty cute!</div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454539133098616466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 258px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgajZgLibXTHZD4F5XLt5aPB97SzqSkSkpGm937BGqZgDDMJRuWGNLerDTWZJ8Awu9PkjGYPMqYnSaHsHdlVD6Y8K5fqM-x9a1JQ3VPaWGkenp8LKrmTnWZZI4Ic5tnz2FiKTX4YP1WLqs/s400/04+24+04_0590_edited-2.JPG" border="0" /></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454539149106453746" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn5A-r2Sse3733pFq2-5MkfDLAYxi2pKXtym1_4g70KCBiHKGE-SpZjWNB7wD9h0HmwV9cy-UaSY7Zr4aaThQ5WhzzKNP6O0ck8o0WVbEmlQgmERyQG2JQpi7qvm-f7aQKZ-YBIcA1LbM/s400/04+24+04_0614_edited-1.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454539153868007874" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 267px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifimhZeGMwc0iGDIwEFzLSna0Zd407kOel6BEHmfXq2nqg-iAkMwLHXYJL_ujRdly_AmRt3h_vWXGKbD3OnFmS-_RmeYpheSJVi1-Wo8_1x83sIaP9bq2RkCssZDI8y5r_ILSwwadI3vM/s400/04+24+04_0617_edited-1.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454539159616926450" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW7rOf6jDFW6vtUGyX9RwJIhpoB-iRZJWz-i-mBvOhomWp4mmgrOKLhhuXghQc2GZnqJXdpupvIlo_uqDIpjZCxTzD0QrOW1jaSo77DvXhfz_pyJOwaRtI8-35KTdUbH-mM4UDvV6vpd8/s400/04+24+04_0621_edited-1.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454539654607516450" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 328px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH6r7KKMaldsTTJUnMEp4xd4EbwxwH_XGAvF55WDOkFdGXv26VHn1cxSOsgNXGdPhdXxwE-UUgnE_arbsLkGSUqvoEc3bI7gt9Z5okQmHdRTVFqCPo7dMmbrX1WsvcNjflLL8TiN5XEOQ/s400/04+24+04_0628_edited-1.JPG" border="0" />Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5653293211689693308.post-42574613568305431992009-11-29T14:44:00.000-08:002009-11-29T14:54:06.985-08:00New News From the King's!We haven't blogged for quite some time, so I figured we were due for an update on our two little boys. Our biggest new: Gage can roll over!! Our somewhat disappointing news: He's only done it four times...and still hasn't shown off to his Dad!!!! Our challenging news: Conner is in the process of being potty trained. UGH!!!!! How in the world do parents and children everywhere get through this?? Conner is doing really good...he has only had two accidents in two days. But, we have run into a little problem. He is only very consistent when he has no pants on. So, unless you want to see us running around Walmart with a half naked boy, we have to figure something out! Here are some recent pictures. Say a prayer or two this week for my patience (and sanity) and Conner's willingness to finally be out of diapers!!!!! We are having a big potty party at House of Bounce when we go a whole day of being dry!!! I will fill you in later...hopefully with pictures of the much anticipated party.<br /><br /><div align="center">Chris got his Christmas present early and Conner loves it!! We had a BLAST!!! Although we were a little worried about Gage+the long car ride, we packed up the good ole van and headed south. Gage did really well and Conner had so much fun everywhere we went...I think the vacation was mainly pointed toward things Conner liked to do and things Gage liked watching Conner do. (That is basically how we spend every day...Conner being busy and Gage watching wishing he could do the things his big brother does.) Don't grow up too fast, Gage!! Here are so pics of our fun trip:<br /><br /><div align="center"><br />Picking out the very best pumpkin with Dad</div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsphPtjreqNY-Y8DqeOV81BgNQj9XapfK8ctox24YyYr94SxINhBPEoJojrLM18TOARsTs1uKsm_L-83OG86EqL-IWpl4lRCYVKqUnnIySdEXdHJyA8NHMhzojSg-uRlnrXdwPslawiEU/s1600-h/10+24+09_0050_edited-1.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397104771461587730" style="DISPLAY: block; The moments where you stop after a long day, lay down on an unmade, messy hotel bed and watch your little ones play together...no toys, no fancy distractions, just the two of them having fun together. I also love how Gage had to crank his neck way around just to watch what Conner is doing. I have realized that adding just one member to the family makes things much more...well....interesting!! We have all been having a ball with our little Gage and he is starting to do those fun things like giggle, smile, and say "Goo" to everything he thinks is fun. We are still trying to get that nap thing down (he enjoys taking five 10-minute naps every day). Chris and I don't really want to mess with that too much, though because he does sleep all the way through the night and we don't really want to give that up!! Here are a few recent pictures of the boys....<br /></div><div align="center">What a ham!!</div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOJ38VSUQyLqE7KGBPlwQgKWuxyhn_WT49-ykj-lH6IDTZm9iXVwu8SbOvl_TICTBstWrcLcsogYdYj128ayNdL2z4YC7xO39fmaLKQdTDXK-g5QhO8N9UWhOsF7Rs17skrFmJ8OhoQMs/s1600-h/100_2094.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394120046041001186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOJ38VSUQyLqE7KGBPlwQgKWuxyhn_WT49-ykj-lH6IDTZm9iXVwu8SbOvl_TICTBstWrcLcsogYdYj128ayNdL2z4YC7xO39fmaLKQdTDXK-g5QhO8N9UWhOsF7Rs17skrFmJ8OhoQMs/s400/100_2094.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Gage and I each have jobs to help Conner farm every day. At first, I think to myself "You have kids...there's no time to keep everyone informed on what's going on in their lives." Then I look at my friend's pages who have kids and they have like a million posts (thanks, jill). So, if they can do it, I should too...right? (we'll see if i make it through this post without my baby waking up, though) So, before he does wake up, I'll post my pictures (because that's all anyone really wants to see, right?) and get out of here. Gage is now a whopping 15 lbs and 24 inches long at 2 months. (that would be the 95th percentile) Yikes! Here are some recent pictures of the "little" guy who is desperately trying to catch up with Conner...<br /><br /><div align="center">Don't you love when they first start to smile?!!!</div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_R0KgJlzi3mgNBF8KAcTOZlAbJsdrGL4hxqqw_qYJbKfvxIXIToiPzwjsrUpRoIhgf-x5MpyPZ00dZscwbNVkJxeRpX3A39pPw7RKakX-Ak_T2AHtmXJIBIM0Uqlooxew7tKMGKpDdO0/s1600-h/Conner+Jan-Apr+2008+112.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382170744766919058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_R0KgJlzi3mgNBF8KAcTOZlAbJsdrGL4hxqqw_qYJbKfvxIXIToiPzwjsrUpRoIhgf-x5MpyPZ00dZscwbNVkJxeRpX3A39pPw7RKakX-Ak_T2AHtmXJIBIM0Uqlooxew7tKMGKpDdO0/s400/Conner+Jan-Apr+2008+112.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div align="center">Laughing?...in a funny looking way (still makes me smile)</div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit1fPRsxZekyyfTBN2KrwinvptAeE7bm9f51DAKYeoshWOdaz3sBxDhbg99bFtQzZ39F7uJzH5EFkvNyPxga4VHd_zowymmQpAqaxmLVy3aYuVdx0NpDuiRe7o1KaRZnLgtBoGm61Ui78/s1600-h/Conner+Jan-Apr+2008+116.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382170734373580914" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit1fPRsxZekyyfTBN2KrwinvptAeE7bm9f51DAKYeoshWOdaz3sBxDhbg99bFtQzZ39F7uJzH5EFkvNyPxga4VHd_zowymmQpAqaxmLVy3aYuVdx0NpDuiRe7o1KaRZnLgtBoGm61Ui78/s400/Conner+Jan-Apr+2008+116.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Lift that head up!!! Gage Timothy was born on Tuesday, July 7th at 11:35 a.m. My c-section went fine...minus the fact that they couldn't get the spinal in and had to do it twice. *ouch* I won't even try to describe the pain because the end result is this...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKdy1Ks0ImaB5uBmfkL5t1QEkqCd2OAhsehKQwTKQyUc4sfJ6zKpZe0qOG799O7-U3uTYzG16FjMJ8BdZ5vKXJst6niA0_nLjMt46UhCpDte5fOJ4Djcw8903MbSAlQl0tUQJGKI9KUjc/s1600-h/100_1870.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKdy1Ks0ImaB5uBmfkL5t1QEkqCd2OAhsehKQwTKQyUc4sfJ6zKpZe0qOG799O7-U3uTYzG16FjMJ8BdZ5vKXJst6niA0_nLjMt46UhCpDte5fOJ4Djcw8903MbSAlQl0tUQJGKI9KUjc/s400/100_1870.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358756810879387682" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqHFnmJ19fH0McEx8j71mG5eTHm_jp8QsHnEENXDRaUJtTE8RfFh_-mFKZ-POhcsBXENqOsJwtOTbspBa6Ftw1azorl3ZbBuENfJaaFtJSpm1L8ybDoAWfBaW1bc07Gdus7BBAUQ0jK-I/s1600-h/100_1876.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqHFnmJ19fH0McEx8j71mG5eTHm_jp8QsHnEENXDRaUJtTE8RfFh_-mFKZ-POhcsBXENqOsJwtOTbspBa6Ftw1azorl3ZbBuENfJaaFtJSpm1L8ybDoAWfBaW1bc07Gdus7BBAUQ0jK-I/s400/100_1876.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358756815846458754" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6BVwNwQmaqP2tbSwiYSb8RqBwnU57B28nulQNeDQQ2uIget5zySWHCEXKulrl2MA2OO-eK9Qaje2MoxFEUIEUP4zk49_fn0pAXnXdb8xVCyDHuA9TDuT-C2YCrj0stcwo8VbbPd_9CIw/s1600-h/100_1868.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6BVwNwQmaqP2tbSwiYSb8RqBwnU57B28nulQNeDQQ2uIget5zySWHCEXKulrl2MA2OO-eK9Qaje2MoxFEUIEUP4zk49_fn0pAXnXdb8xVCyDHuA9TDuT-C2YCrj0stcwo8VbbPd_9CIw/s400/100_1868.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358756807820454866" border="0" /></a>Conner is doing great and is going to be the best big brother! He loves talking to Gage, but can't really understand why Gage doesn't talk back to him ("He's not listening to me.") and why Gage can't play with him. The playing with him isn't that big of a deal to him because Conner has gotten to play with Gage's tractor Grandpa bought him ever since we got home....Gage did tell Conner it was okay for him to play with it. So, my new little helper helps me pick up things off the floor (I still can't quite get down that far), pours the formula in bottles, "changes" diapers, and explains to Gage how to fish, farm, and talk Mom and Dad into going outside.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkalW3np_owiIvXvJlCPLyBnpqIuezd_yeCg4DfH7LAj2U2rldIMOFi5QsLCMBrvI2hun-x9CyxyaAAVUohiliLyI-f2AbIN0_ttU28VmBufiYtdEB1-5sW4dC3UcqgljLleIvo9yASzY/s1600-h/100_1882_edited-1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkalW3np_owiIvXvJlCPLyBnpqIuezd_yeCg4DfH7LAj2U2rldIMOFi5QsLCMBrvI2hun-x9CyxyaAAVUohiliLyI-f2AbIN0_ttU28VmBufiYtdEB1-5sW4dC3UcqgljLleIvo9yASzY/s400/100_1882_edited-1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358758802409375458" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikpYSChHi-gBV4Ujs6HxztgtSfZv_Fuyapqmbj_833Tc5A5J3wGZXgy4871JIXn2P0sDEY4dHod8RVhzCnYnX-afwVvudaGTYS3rZKtcbx1Z0W6N070ZxommESiUtm0RnFp_J3n4rOCks/s1600-h/100_1903.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikpYSChHi-gBV4Ujs6HxztgtSfZv_Fuyapqmbj_833Tc5A5J3wGZXgy4871JIXn2P0sDEY4dHod8RVhzCnYnX-afwVvudaGTYS3rZKtcbx1Z0W6N070ZxommESiUtm0RnFp_J3n4rOCks/s400/100_1903.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358758818562082162" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9sdr2tU8Mcbme8dC8XK9qk8-ijbp5KKmDMZWhIrIiuxNUBYKuiz-gz2stesQ9la8DkgY4vXd4r_U1MPlwEzS_I9j-FuWw9M9zA6mEWuC0erSnZrwFTcPdr3xxCM6seFXkTATRsxQzxpk/s1600-h/100_1897_edited-1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9sdr2tU8Mcbme8dC8XK9qk8-ijbp5KKmDMZWhIrIiuxNUBYKuiz-gz2stesQ9la8DkgY4vXd4r_U1MPlwEzS_I9j-FuWw9M9zA6mEWuC0erSnZrwFTcPdr3xxCM6seFXkTATRsxQzxpk/s400/100_1897_edited-1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358758808872849442" border="0" /></a>We are so happy to be home and are fitting into our life as a family of four pretty well. Notice the word big, though. *cringe* They are estimating that he weighs 6 lbs 7 oz right now and I still have 6 weeks to go. Yeah. I know. I'm now starting to wonder why in the world I opted to NOT have a c-section, but a natural birth instead. My dr. is saying he will probably end up being around 9 lbs at this rate...which is what Conner was, too. He will gain about 1/2 pound per week now. The absoluetly amazing part of the whole thing was the sonogram. I have never gotten to see pictures of a baby that far along and they were amazing! Chris and I both think he looks a lot like Conner. :) I can't wait to see him! I now have to have a non-stress test each time I go in for an appointment, which will last 30 mintues and I am not looking foward to. Oh, well. As long as we end up with a healthy baby things will be fine. I'll try to post pictures of Gage tomorrow...or the day after (our VBS is going on this week and making me crazy busy!).Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5653293211689693308.post-21660812131549145632009-05-19T12:29:00.001-07:002009-05-19T12:36:26.032-07:00Less than two months to go!!!! The countdown is on.Reality about having an extra little one is starting to hit our little family. In a good way, of course. Chris and I had bought a pair of bunk beds and planned on Conner using the top bunk (unbunked). Of course, I didn't like the color of the bed (they are white and just look girly...my boys are manly boys) so I had to paint them a dark brown. That is finally finished and we moved the bed into the bedroom...which we found out is a pretty small bedroom. Between a huge dresser, a good sized crib, and a new twin sized bed, Conner can barely squeeze a toe in...let alone his preggo Mommy trying to sit on the floor to read a book at night. Okay, so it's not that bad, but we are now rearranging things. The dresser is moving downstairs and an old dresser is coming upstairs to the bedroom. *sigh* Will we ever get done? Here's a picture of Conner's new bedspread. :)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61heLYpJ2uL._AA400_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61heLYpJ2uL._AA400_.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>I'll get actual pictures once things are a little cleaner and more organized in there. For now, I am trying to ignore the entire room until that dresser is out of there...which is why you find me here blogging while Conner is napping. I really do need to accomplish something now, though. Wish me luck!<br /><img src="file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/CHRISK%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-4.jpg" alt="" />Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5653293211689693308.post-22760735681722300522009-05-12T13:05:00.000-07:002009-05-12T13:14:27.589-07:00High Risk??!!Well, just to prove that no pregnancy is alike, I just found out that I have gestational diabetes. Yuck. My blood sugar was one point above what it was supposed to be on my three hour glucose tolerance test and I am now considered a "high risk pregnancy." That means more tests, more sonograms, more monitoring. Ugh. The good thing is, I can easily control it with diet and exercise, which I have been keeping up with pretty well already. I had noticed that I have gotten bigger sooner with this one than with Conner without really gaining much weight at all, but kind of wrote it off as it being my second pregnancy. So, nothing to be too terribly concerned about as long as I do my part, but still a little scary. After going to a diabetes specialist yesterday, I now know everything there is to know about it! Only two months to go!!Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5653293211689693308.post-32086691042126275412009-04-28T11:59:00.000-07:002009-04-28T12:08:02.090-07:00Grandma StoriesI forgot to add a funny story that my mom had for me after watching Conner the other day. She felt something on her side and pulled her waistband down just a little to see if there was a tick on her. Conner looked over at her and says, "You not pooped, Grandma. You fine." Funny how a two-year-old can think he's the same age as everyone else around him!Josiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17789146141636022199noreply@blogger.com1
